Virginia Upgrading of Cell Towers

Apogee Consulting Group provided inspection, analysis and corrective action for the upgrade of two area emergency communications towers.  Details of Apogee’s services included:

• Thorough grounding system inspections at the Bon Air and Union Branch Towers, using Motorola Standards and Guidelines for Communication sites, manual R56 as a guideline along with other industry standards.
• Performance of IEEE 81 Fall of Potential ground resistance measurements.
• Comprehensive report, including design drawings, to provide corrective actions and measures to enhance the grounding system at each site.
• Review of proposals and submittals provided by construction contractors.
• Performance of inspections of work  performed as a result of the recommended corrective actions and measures

Apogee Consulting Group has subsequently partnered with Chesterfield County for further projects to evaluate and enhance their emergency communications system.
