TB Unit HVAC Replacement

As the Prime contractor, Apogee Consulting Group developed the redesign plan for the upgrade and replacement of an HVAC system to be dedicated for containment of the TB unit located in Building One.  Highlights of this project included:

• Replacement of an existing air handling unit, condensing unit, exhaust system and all duct work in the isolation room and ante room;
• Installation of the new HVAC system, which included duct work, air conditioning and heating units, controls and exhaust system for the existing isolation room;
• Upsizing of HVAC system to accommodate a second TB Isolation Room;
• Placement of the new equipment on a stand-alone DOC system;
• Connection of the new AHU to emergency power;
• Phased development process to prevent interruption of concurrent hospital operations.
