A-Wing Generator Addition
One wing of this major VA medical center required an upgrade for it's emergency power generation and distribution system. As Prime engineering contractor and project manager, Apogee coordinated the overall effort with other service providers in evaluating the facility system, designing the right system to meet the facility's contemporary needs, and implementing the changes required.
Details of this project included:
- Evaluation of the generator fuel oil consumption and fuel oil storage capacity;
- Evaluation of the existing generator room ventilation system;
- Addition of a 1250 kVA emergency generator;
- Expansion and upgrade of the generator paralleling gear;
- Addition and upgrade of the fuel oil day tank system;
- Relocation of the existing generator's remote radiators to a roof-top location;
- Addition of a remote radiator on the roof.
