VA Mather: Building Redesign

Apogee is the prime contractor for this project to repair and replace exterior walls, windows, and the roof of Building 647, a two-story, 13,000 SF specialty clinic at the VA Mather Medical Center campus.

Repairs include the replacement of a cement plaster system with a new exterior and finish system (EFIS), window systems, roofing, flashing, and sheet metal at all building penetrations for a building that houses cancer treatment facilities, a pharmacy and other outpatient services.

The structure has experienced water intrusion through the building envelope components since it’s substantial completion in 2007. Investigations discovered improperly installed roofing, window flashings, and stucco detailing at penetration points. The roof deck also requires remediation.
