VA Wilkes-Barre: Plumbing Upgrade

The Apogee Consulting Group design team conducted an in-depth field investigation of the plumbing at the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center, which has an aging domestic water system with some piping original to the building.

Our team walked through and investigated all levels to gather field information and understanding of the current condition to present findings and recommended design solutions for the VA’s review and consideration.

The design intent is to bring the existing restrooms into compliance with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the PG 18-13 VA Barrier-Free Design Standard while improving the architectural interior aesthetic, comfort level, and replacing the aging plumbing system.

Two previous projects have begun the process of replacing water heaters and the domestic water piping system on campus. This project is the final phase of that process.
