Apogee Consulting Group Electrical Department Manager Josh VandenEnde has been named one of Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine’s recipients of the 2020 40 Under 40 award.
The award is given annually to 40 nonresidential building industry professionals ages 40 and younger who stand out through an assortment of personal and professional aspects of their lives.
Candidates were nominated by a professional colleague or mentor and judged by industry experts based on nine areas, including their commitment to superiority in their academic, professional, personal and community involvement.
“Josh’s rapid rise in leadership, coupled with his extensive professional credentials, make him the ideal candidate for just such an award,” said Charlie Sowders, Apogee Chief Operating Officer.
“If the technical expertise, breadth of experience and confident attitudes don’t impress you, then the dedication given to mentoring, the community and family certainly will,” said Amara Rozgus, Editor-in-Chief of Consulting-Specifying Engineer. “Now in its 13th year, the 2020 40 Under 40 winners are more creative, focused and passionate than most professionals at the early phases of their career, leading them to succeed in their respective professions.”
Josh graduated with honors from North Carolina State University in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and management and joined Apogee in 2004 when he was just 16 years old as a drafter doing computer-aided design. He has been with firm ever since, accomplishing many milestones.
In his career at Apogee, Josh’s work has developed through a variety of design and supervisory tasks. He has spent the last five years supervising design projects totaling over $100,000,000 in construction value. He was recently promoted to the position of Electrical Engineering Manager and now supervises 21 electrical engineering staff and many projects throughout the U.S.
In the May print edition and online, Consulting-Specifying Engineer honored each of the 40 Under 40 Award recipients, highlighting qualities that led him/her to sustained success, recent professional projects and personal achievements.
