Apogee Brings Cost Estimating In-House

John Carter Earns CPE Certification

Cost Estimating Department Manager John Carter in Apogee Consulting Group’s Cary, N.C. office has earned the Certified Professional Estimator accreditation from the America Society of Professional Estimators, bringing the function in-house to Apogee’s portfolio of services.

A construction industry veteran of 39 years, Carter is spearheading growth of Apogee’s estimating services. By addressing cost estimating earlier in the process, even prior to establishing a fee proposal, Apogee clients will be able to make scope decisions more appropriate to their local market. Carter said the move will save them time and money and will add value to the firm’s overall service array.

Carter is also an accredited LEED Green Associate. He joins Apogee from W.M. Jordan Company in Wilmington where he was a project estimator responsible for preconstruction services for the company’s Carolina’s division, interacting with owners and designers to take projects from inception to construction.

Notable projects include the Town Creek Elementary School addition and Middle School in Winnabow and phases one and two of the Portside at Grande Dunes senior living and memory care facilities in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
