VA Danville: Pharmacy Upgrade

Under an IDIQ task order, Apogee provides project management and design services for this project to renovate the existing compounding room at VA Illiana Health Care Systems in order to improve inpatient pharmacy sterile processing and chemo processing.

The spaces will comply with USP 797 and USP 800 for air changes and pressures.

The areas included in the schematic plan are:

Anteroom, Sterile Compounding
Ante Room ISO Class 7 (positive) is where personnel hand hygiene, garbing procedures, and other activities that generate high particulate levels are performed. The anteroom is a transition room between the unclassified area of the facility and the other buffer rooms.

Sterile Hazardous Drug Buffer Room (C-SEC)
Sterile hazardous drug (HD) buffer room ISO Class 7 (negative) is for mixing, transferring, and assembling components of hazardous drug compounded sterile operations. This room will contain two Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinets (BSC), one of which is dedicated to BCG compounding.

Sterile Non-Hazardous Drug Buffer Room
Sterile non-hazardous drug buffer room ISO Class 7 (positive) is for mixing, transferring, and assembling components of non-hazardous drug compounded sterile operations using Laminar Airflow Workbench (LAFW).

Sterile Hazardous Drug Storage
This is a negative pressure space for storing sterile compounding operations.
