This project involved the upgrade of the existing campus‐wide fire alarm system, which contained obsolete and high‐maintenance components.
The system fiber loop was shared with OIT, security camera system, and HVAC control system, which created operational difficulties and reliability concerns. The new design segregated the system’s network on its own dedicated fire alarm system fiber loop.
VA Salisbury: Fire Alarm System
As the prime contractor, Apogee provided project management, electrical engineering design, and technology design to upgrade and bring the system-wide campus fire alarm system into compliance with VA guidelines and Life Safety (NFPA) Codes.
