VA St. Louis EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades

Apogee was tasked with providing full design services and construction documents to upgrade the IT infrastructure at the VA. St. Louis campus in preparation the Electronic Health Record Modernization.

Due to space constraints, the St. Louis VAMC pursued an exterior tower to reduce the amount of existing space claimed for the new telecommunications closets. The campus has an intersection of two building wings that can be reached from the first floor to the ninth floor and can be accessed at each level from an existing stair.

Apogee’s mechanical engineers provided design for the existing OIT and TR room, bringing each room into compliance with the Infrastructure for Telecommunication Spaces. Our electrical engineers provided design to upgrade the electrical distribution system to support the new EHRM system, providing two new panelboards for each TR created. Our dedicated RCDD staff ensured that the data system meets the EHRM requirements.
